TNG ch 8

       Dog felt the stone walls that seemed endless in the small corridor that she and Leo walked through. Leo was holding her other hand and she could feel his small shaking. He was nervous and scared, and he had every right to be. The trials to become a dragon were hard and unforgiving.

       "Dog, what is the first trial?" Leo asked, his voice trembling.

       "Well, you got the best instructor here and he likes to start out with meditation. That should be easy right? When I was in your head I could tell meditating was easy for you. So you'll do fine!" Dog planted a kiss on Leo's blushing cheek.

       "Ya, it is easy for me. Thanks Dog!" Leo pulled Dog into an embrace. She smiled, She always loves Leo's hugs.

       Finally the two reached the training grounds, where a figure in robes awaited. They couldn't see his face, and he sort of looked like the grim reaper. But was missing the scythe.

       "Hello, I am your instructor. Sir Waver, that is my name. I will lead you to become a great dragon." His voice rasped, He seamed kind and gentle. Like he wouldn't hurt a fly.

       "Ok Leo, I have to go. These trials are for you and you alone. I will go get your family, and be back by tomorrow. Alright?" Dog looked Leo in the eyes. She could see he was filled with worry.

       "But they hate you! What will happen if they don't trust you or something goes wrong? Or...or..." Leo trembled, his worry growing. Dog hugged Leo to comfort him. She spoke to him in a small gentile whisper. She told him how it would be fine and that she was going to be back in a few hours. He then took something out of his belt, and handed it to her. She looked at it and realized that it was a small necklace, it had  a small crystal at the end of it with both of their names. She smiled and looked at Leo, who was also smiling, and nodded.

       "Alright Leonardo, we must go through our training." The instructor started to walk down a small, almost invisible path. Leo walked slowly down the path, glancing at Dog every few steps. When he was finally gone, Dog started to walk back towards the docks.

       "Stay safe, Leo." She whispered as tears streamed down her face and she put the necklace around her neck. She would bring his family here, and she would do it for him.
